Jacob is a teacher at a residential boarding school and is in his third year of studies at ARU. Jacob tells us how the skills and support he’s receiving has given him the confidence to support a rewarding career in shaping early childhood learning and development.
I chose Early Years because I love teaching young children. I enjoy the chaos they bring and really love seeing them engage with learning and discovering who they are.

Realise your potential
This course has certainly made me understand that I can finish my studies at BA level and in the future go further and study for a Masters. I will continue with my studies at ARU and gain PGCE, enabling my family and I to teach anywhere in the world.

ARU has helped me realise that I am academic, and I do enjoy studying. I think I would have struggled anywhere else without the fantastic online resources and the even more fantastic staff guiding me through.

ARU has clear, concise online support that is easy to navigate. These resources are blended very well with face-to-face learning.
You will not find a more fully organised course than at ARU. The lecturers genuinely care, the resources are very helpful, and the support staff are experts who go above and beyond to help.
Tips for students
You need to be organised and disciplined. The best tip is to design a study routine that you can fulfil and commit to.
Rewarding life experiences
The hardest aspect of studying is remaining focused, however the support structure at ARU has really helped me to refocus to keep working and achieving.
The feeling of handing in work is extremely rewarding. It is such a rollercoaster of emotions, relief, joy, excitement!
I have made friends for life with other students on the course. The support we have shown each other has been fantastic.
