For a mature student, distance learning is a match made in heaven. The course has already given me deeper understanding of the challenges of leadership in the field of Health & Social Care and a chance to make a positive contribution towards solving these problems. What a privilege!
When an opportunity came to study for a MSc relevant to Sophie’s current job, she wanted to give it her best shot and has later found it has been a great privilege to use her learning to contribute towards Healthcare Management.
I found myself not only working but also thriving in my social care career when I couldn’t return to Zambia, and stayed in the UK. When the opportunity came to study for a MSc relevant to my current job, I wanted to give it my best shot. Though studying and increasing my knowledge it has given me confidence and therefore a greater influence in the sector.
My contribution to the growth of the organisation using advanced knowledge will be of great benefit.
Overcoming challenges and realising the benefits
Engaging in academic activities at such a high level in such a sensitive field as Health and Social Care is very testing. I have managed to overcome these challenges simply by pushing myself and cutting down on none-work or college related activities.
The course has equipped me with tools required for advanced decision making, and it has given me greater knowledge of group decision making. I found most, if not all modules relevant to my job role.
My contribution to the growth of the organisation using advanced knowledge will be of great benefit.
