My career has benefitted a great deal from this course. It has boosted my confidence to design and deliver my training. I understand that what I do has a rationale and follows a framework, a principle inspired by the educational theories. It has given me the vision to aim higher in my standards of teaching, it has structured my thinking and I am now able to back my training with evidence.

I can see the progress I have made from studying this course. I have developed and practised the skills I have learnt, and I’m delighted to say that my training has improved spectacularly - so has my learners’ engagement and feedback.

I can fulfil the training needs of our learners and accommodate various learning styles. I have become more inclusive, creative and innovative in delivering training sessions, meaning my workplace is now able to deliver a great training experience to professionals who require upskilling.

My tutor has been consistently supportive, patient and extremely responsive to any queries I had to address, or any last-minute disasters, he’s saved the day!

The same applies to the rest of the staff I’ve contacted for support; they were all very responsive.

The online resources were very useful and enabled me to perform all my academic tasks to a high standard. If I ever encountered an issue, I knew I had someone an email away to make things right again.

You need determination to start your course of choice and commitment to reach the end of your journey with success. You need people around who believe in you, support you and if relevant, an employer that will allow you to pursue your ambitions.

You’ll need to be kind to yourself and allow some down time to recuperate from the accumulated stress as you may juggle work and studies. If stuck, go out for a walk in the park for half an hour to “empty your head” and get some fresh air. Rest enough, hydrate and eat well. It all matters.

In my experience ARU has allowed me to achieve my personal and professional ambitions. It’s worth every penny of the tuition fees. I self-funded my course and I’ve had no regrets investing in my career. 

I would recommend this course to any fellow nurses or other professionals in the medical field who train others. It’s an affordable course that captures the essence of what you need to know as an educator, and you get to apply for the fellowship with HEA to establish yourself in education.

Overall, my experience with ARU was amazing. I felt supported, empowered, and accomplished. I’ve achieved what I was hoping for when I signed up for the course and I’ve enjoyed every moment.

It has a great alumni community and as heard on my graduation day, “It’s our university for life”.
